Another Dream

Régias

All that we see or seem is but a dream within a dream.
~ Edgar Allan Poe

I always have the weirdest dreams! I wish I could make a movie out of them, or better write them out so people could just imagine how it would have been. They’re so strange, that I get anxious to sleep at night just to see what’s going to happen next.

They’re in color (despite my film preference) and it’s like another world with people, streets, houses and places that I visit often, but Iv’e never seen in real life. Some of those places, I go since I was little and others, I stopped visiting for some reason I don’t know. It can also happen that I dream with something and then I live a similar situation in real life.  But, that’s not frequent.

Another weird thing is that I’ve always dreamed with some kind of apocalypse since I can remember. It can be Jesus coming, aliens, air strike, asteroids, tsunamis (I’m just seeing one on TV… weird). Water. Lots of water in my dreams. Oh… and the ghosts! I wish I could show them, but I imagine it wouldn’t be much fun for others. Maybe dreams are only meaningful for their dreamers.

Free

“Freedom (n.): To ask nothing. To expect nothing. To depend on nothing.”
~ Ayn Rand, The Fountainhead

That was the day when a series of meaningless events became meaningful enough to me, to the point of panic, that I had to obey the little voice in my head and stop the plane when it was about to take off. I just had to get out of there! It was a scene to remember.

No, the plane didn’t crash. Nobody died (not that I know). They put me in another flight (no charge) and I went home, almost peacefully.

♪ O Willow Waly ~The Innocents (1961)

We lay, my love and I beneath the weeping willow,
But now alone I lie and weep beside the tree,
Singing “O Willow Waly” by the tree that weeps with me,
Singing “O Willow Waly” till my lover returns to me.
We lay my love and I beneath the weeping willow,
But now alone I lie.
O willow I die.
O willow I die…

Perhaps when we find ourselves wanting everything, it is because we are dangerously close to wanting nothing.

~ Sylvia Plath

Still pretty busy with all the moving thing, but very excited about a new beginning. New home, new friends, new photos, new perspectives and wishes. My head is a bit messy now, but everything will get into place and it will be for the better.  Like it’s always been!

And above all, watch with glittering eyes the whole world around you because the greatest secrets are always hidden in the most unlikely places. Those who don’t believe in magic will never find it.

~ Roald Dahl

Making some prints right now, because I finally have chemicals (yay!!). Still trying to find the best and more economical way to make test strips that is consistent and practical.  I’m thinking about making a tool for it, like the one Ralph Lambrecht has in his book “Way Beyond Monochrome”.  I think it would save me a lot of time and paper.

Everything that’s realistic has some sort of ugliness in it. Even a flower is ugly when it wilts, a bird when it seeks its prey, the ocean when it becomes violent.

~Sharon Tate

Tudo o que é realista tem algum tipo de feiúra em si. Até mesmo uma flor é feia quando murcha, um pássaro, quando persegue sua presa, o oceano quando se torna violento.
